Sweet and Sour Sauce

Enjoy homemade sweet and sour sauce which is far healthier and tastier than any take-out or store-bought version.

Ingredients:

1 cup canned pineapple juice

¾ cup packed light brown sugar

⅓ cup rice vinegar

3 tbsp ketchup

2 tbsp soy sauce

1½ tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp water

2-3 drops red all-natural food coloring (optional)

Directions:

Add the pineapple juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce and bring to boil.

Add the cornstarch mixture, continually stirring to combine, and simmering for 60 seconds until thickened.

Add the red food coloring, stirring to combine.

Allow the sauce to completely cool and transfer to an airtight container in the fridge for 14-21 days.
